In waters over 60 feet deep, you’ll find larger, more exotic species like vermilion (also known as crimson snapper) and triggerfish. You’ll still locate sea bass in this area, but they will be larger than those further inland.
If you really want a full day’s worth of Myrtle Beach deep sea fishing, you can opt for an 11 hour excursion, which will run you out nearly 60 miles from shore with fishing depths of 120 to 200 feet. You’ll lose sight of shore for certain and really get to try out your sea legs as you cast for more large vermilion, red snapper, and triggerfish, as well as adding grunts, grouper, and amberjack to the list of most common catches. However, there are still more species to be caught at these distances and depths.
If you still aren’t satisfied that this will allow you to fully experience Myrtle Beach deep sea fishing to the fullest, sign up for an overnight trip on a fishing charter that will last a full 24 hours.
